Dr. Nick Cassotis, board-certified veterinary ophthalmologist, provides services for diagnosis and treatment of conditions that threaten your horse's vision. Routine diagnostic tests performed include:
- tear film evaluation
- tonometry
- slit-lamp biomicroscopy
- gonioscopy
- direct and indirect ophthalmoscopy
Advanced diagnostic tests include:
- electroretinography
- ultrasonography
- refraction
Dr. Cassotis also performs ophthalmic surgery such as:
- microsurgical corneal repair
- cryosurgery for tumor management
- eyelid laceration repair
- tear duct repair and
- enucleation
Dr. Cassotis sees equine ophthalmology cases on most Fridays by appointment and is available for emergency eye cases as needed.
